The Growth Of Video Marketing And Why Your Business Needs It

William Craig Contributor* (article from Forbes)

I write about the secret of company culture in entrepreneurial success.  Your brand is not a stagnant strategy on a piece of paper — you must bring it to life. Video lends electroshock therapy to flat lining marketing strategies and generates pulse. Your brand evolves continually, and telling that story is important to keep your audience connected and bring in new viewers — which could eventually become loyal customers.

Video does what text doesn't. It creates an immediate, real and authentic route of interaction and connectivity with audience members, who can often provide reactions and comments in real time.

Bio:  After freelancing for Center City Video, Philadelphia, and learning the ins and outs of commercial production, Curtis Dubinsky established Backyard Productions in Hershey, PA. Projects had him shooting on both coasts for Disney/MGM, Paul Newman - The Hole In the Wall Gang Camp, Newman’s Own, and the American Black Achievement Awards (interviews with Spike Lee and Redd Foxx).

A BFA honors graduate of the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Curtis also studied graphic design at the Parson’s School of Design, Manhattan, and fashion photography at the New School for Social Research. Working in the Philadelphia/New York market, the evolution to motion picture and broadcast video was natural.

Throughout the process we will learn about  you and your business in order to produce a better product. Backyard will integrate what we produce into what you already have in place. Continuity in advertising is a simple concept, but not always implemented.

"Lean On Me"

Recently, we completed this three minute video for a fund raiser, to help an alumnus of our High School due to an illness.

An interesting note about the video is that we turned it around (concept to completion) in six days.  (more like three, but it took some time to get the credit info together).

The impetus for the piece was the remake of "Lean on Me" that a couple of my other classmates created.  After hearing it, I knew I wanted to use photos (a look back) as a building block for the video.

Curtis Dubinsky has created films for the Pennsylvania Department of Education on the topic of Inclusion and the plight of special needs children to meld into a regular education setting.  A series has also been created on the topic of Autism for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. These films are available to the public to break stereotypes and help us all understand what it means to live with autism. To view the films, click here.
